Finally fitted intercooler

Guys I finally got round to fitting my air to air intercooler and its worked out pretty well so thought I'd drop a post. Bought it a while ago. 300x300 top mount air to air. Made up some brackets and mounted it square over the rocker cover at the back and about an inch under the bonnet when shut. Then added some draft stop stuff to form a seal when the bonnets shut. Also mounted a scoop off an Isuzu bighorn with the bonnet hole cut to match the intercooler size. The intercooler is 100mm thick and level with the bonnet angle. With a 2 inch body lift at the front of the cooler I have about 80mm clearance to the top of the rocker cover and at the back about 130mm so easy enough to fit a pull fan under the cooler if need be. Test drive is showing more top end power and about 100c drop in EGT's under full load at 15psi so am wrapped with that. Also found that bipassing my snorkel filter set up and using a pod filter means I make boost much faster and hold it under load where before boost was slower to get there and then would fall off. I assumed the revs were just sucking it up but looks like my old filter system was under feeding the turbo so suspect it would make boost till it formed a snorkel vacuum then drop off. Anyway works great and well worth the frigging round to fit the cooler. Plus the cooler and scoop look cool on these big bonnets.
