:?: A couple of questions
http://www.auckland4wd.org.nz/downloads ... mation.pdf

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS:
Spare tyre/s

are spare wheels going to have to be carried on the stages, will a spare wheel(s) per team going to be ok or will each vehicle have to carry one or would beadlocks and spare tubes be sufficent?

PITS:
Is there going to be a lot of room to spread out in the pits or will it be congested and bearing in mind its a no camping venue can tents, marquees etc be put up for shelter, gear storage, support team etc?

Hi Mate ,Re spare wheels ,No requirement to carry one or have one (but in saying that would suggest that at least one of your team has one that fits all 3 trucks) as some stages are quite long .1 stage being over 20 km :)

Yep there is plenty of room to spread out ,we have 2 quite large areas to use for the base ,parking trucks /trailers etc.and put up a tent or 2 for cover and storage
Cheers Steve

Have been up at the forest quite a bit lately setting tracks to entertain you guys and because a lot of the tracks you will be doing are quite long it can be a bit confusing getting to and from the control hub as multiple teams will be using some of the access tracks at the same time to get to the sh#tty bits ,We will be putting up as many signs and directions as we can but things look real different at night .on the day all the teams will be given maps of the forest and a stage map that they are doing ,but if it helps anyone that has a GPS and wants a copy of the forest map drop me a email at oink@xtra.co.nz and I can email you a copy to load on your gps .it wont show the stages you are going to do but is a general map of the whole forest area we will be in ..I am making this offer as it might help teams from getting lost and most of the Auckland teams know the forest quite well and it might help take away the home advantage and it wont affect the timed stages

For those that were thinking about getting the map and importing / calibrating it to use in your GPS....
It wont quite work as the map trails as marked were not made using a GPS and the are not where they show up ..heheeh some by quite a bit.
Just make sure your GPS has the Topo map loaded for this part of the country and compare the stage maps to it....As you go...
It will be handy getting to the various stages and back to base camp but wont help once on a stage. Thats what bunting tape is for
Gunna be a fun event.....
