Hi Yah All
Anyone in Auckland who can lend me a timing tool / dti thingy for setting the VE style pumps.....
Trying to dial mine in and want to start off with it set to factory plunger depth first.
Tried timing by ear, but not sure what I am listening for....But have got it running nice so far......
NOTE: its basically a 2LT pump.....
Cheers

I have one Calvin.
You are welcome to borrow it.
I have DTI and the adaptor to go in the arse of the pump too.

Pump timed to upper end of factory plunger stroke for a 1KZT (0.62mm).
Would be interested with what people have set there 1KZT (E) manual conversions to....
Had to pull starter to time using Simon's DTI...Not enough room.
Will mark off some other settings on the case.....like 0.8mm and 1.0mm
So I don't need the DTI again...
Thanks Simon !!!!

Hey guys, bumping up an old thread here but was wondering if you have adjusted timing since setting it at 0.62? I ask as i've just slapped a manual pump on my 1kz... do you know what these measuements equate to in degrees? Was told to set pump to 13degrees.
Will put up a thread with some pics of my build at some stage soon as Ive given it a full rebuild with custom fmic and flipped intake manifold, full 2.5 exhaust etc.
Cheers
Sean

I tried that setting and felt it was too advanced...
Ended up timing by ear and EGT readings....
Found a sweet spot... no idea what the adjustment is.

To be honest I have fiddled with it that much... Pardon the pun... But it could have gone back to the original spot...or very close to it...

If anyone is interested, the guys at Kaiopoi suggested 0.76-0.79. I set mine at 0.79 and fired it up for the first time. It sounds good but am yet to drive it. Just have throttle left to sort out
