Need Auckland ORE member to pickup new ORE server pleassseee

Hi All,

Thanks to the supporters of the site, ORE has a brand new (second hand) server for which will ensure the future of the site. Every couple of years I've had to upgrade the server as its got bigger requiring more and more resources. Also with the coming up move of the site to an ISP it was required that the server be rack mounted.

I've managed to secure a Dual opteron with 4gigs of ram and mirrored 80gig HDs (lots of vid space) in a 1U rack case. My boss has the same server with a 3 times the HD space bought 8 months ago for $6k, ours was $1800. Now I need to get it from auckland to welllington(where the install will happen) and then onto chch. Thanks to mercuito he will organise the transport via flyways from depot to depot - Auckland to wellington.

I just need an established member to go around and pick it up, package it and drop it at the flyway depot. I could get a courier but really the thought of them throwing the ORE server in the back of the van is a bit much especially when its the supporters of the site that payed for it.

yeah the fliways depot in akld is out at the airport so that would work out nicely i need to know the weight and size for when i finalise the details for delivery

Many thanks to rotazuk and mercutio for helping to get the server to wellington in one piece. It's working, already half installed and bloody fast I even think faster than a supra powered hilux

Many thanks to all the site supporters, because without you the new server wouldnt exist, well it might but just some old has been beyond its use by date(no not my LR )

I'll be bringing it down next weekend to put in the racks and fire it up with the site on.
