2 drivers side and 1 passenger side then I went to longfield 30 spline supersets with their drive gears in the hubs and havent had any problems since other than spitting a hub off

Passenger side one in the Lada started clicking - so I replaced it early

Generally the weak side is short side axle/CV. The short axle doesn't allow any "give" or torsional twist like the long side axle does due to its long length, so usually either the short side axle goes or the cv goes.

Re: cv's which side do you break???
some interesting bits of useless info
when the front axle ends up sliding sideways and back down into the bank the left side will generally hit the bank harder because the driver is "top side" so not really seeing the side of the truck hitting the bank as such
i have blown lots of cvs proberly 60/40 favouring the right side
i have only ever broken the short axle (over 1/2 dozen times +) althou i did a cheep install once and didnt replace the axle "C" clip and it slid out of the cv shearing the spline on both the axle and CV together
when one lands hard the right cv will generally blow first, once replaced the left is as strong as plasticine and will destroy itself and bind up one steering
those that run open diffs will not know what we are talking about
those that run lockers and drive where those with open diffs dont look like "the man" and will prance about with one hand in the air, some thing like i do anyway
those with open diffs that drive where the lockers go dont have to prance around because they are "THE MAN" and state things like why am i changing that CV for
there you go my story on cvs

Re: cv's which side do you break???
Passanger side for me, it is still going and clicking and I have had it lock up on me once at Woodhill after that I have had no Issues.
Driver side is still sweet and that is the short end for me.
Cheers.
