LN106 rear diff noise

Hi all,
My hilux real lsd is making a shitty, squeaking noise when reversing and when changing down while slowing up for intersections etc. Its only when in gear and under load i.e.clutch out
Of course this happened the day I put it up for sale
It looks like it might be leaking a little amount of oil out the front of the diff head (pinion end) which it has never done before.
The LSD still works great, can turn sharp corners on road and inside tire will light up a little as it always has so I'm thinking that it may be a bearing or seal but then again I know 3/5 of 5/8 of f##k all
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Or if anyone wants to buy a hilux I'll do it for 7 grand with the diff the way it is haha
Cheers guys

Its leaking oil out the pinion and theres a bit of movement up and down in the pinion. Just got quoted $1300 to fix...F##K THAT!!
If it wasnt leaking oil id say it was a uni like vinceparts said

you can get a second hand diff head for 250-350 spend another 50 on diff oil and sealant and put it in yourself for a cheaper option.

If it were a diff pinion fault you would hear a distinctive whining noise when either accelerating or de-cellerating, which gradually becomes worse over a period of time.
i'm definately with the others on a driveshaft universal, they cause the bulk of drivetrain noises and vibration, very common fault. Your's will have a two piece driveshaft and a centre bushing....that centre bushing/bearing is often faulty, what i'd replace first
As for the oil coming from the pinion, nothing to do with the squeak you're hearing....a new seal can easily be fitted with diff in place.

Hosehustler, if that bushing is naffed, will there be a lot of freeplay or will it be hard to know? At the moment I dont have a lot of time and even less money as I've just shifted to ahburton, thinking about maybe selling it for a while and buying a car for travelling back on weekends and buying a dedicated off road hack.
are the universals expensive to replace? its making a screeching noise and its only when downshifting or reversing e.g. the diff is under load to pull the truck to a stop/in reverse
cheers for the help guys

not usually huge amounts of play visually, circle track engineering do good prices for universals etc, give them a call monday morning, discuss exact noise you're hearing and get some solid advice before selling your truck cheap.
