HI people iv'e done gone n brought a 95 Big Horn with big flares on it n fairly wide alloy rims.
So really my question is what if any faults do they have i understand that the oil filter is prone to working loose ? is there anything else i should be looking out for.

plastic radiator tanks, heads, egr valves, cold start valves, gearboxes, all hoses.
If the truck hasn't been looked after and done big kms then these are all things to be aware of.
Aircon, window switches, door lock motors, centre console lids, exterior window trims are other minor things.
check out
www.clubisuzu.com for heaps of good info.

I just got one too. Sounds the same, 95, flares, wide rims. Done 410,000 though. Doing cambelt, etc etc next week and a tranny service (none of it has been done in over 250k!!) Has had oil change every 5000 though. Has fixed hubs that I want to swap for some free wheeling ones.

I've got one as my daily driver had it for 4yrs and done 80 thousand K's in it since owning, now done a total of 200K.
It's a good wagon and had an excellent run up until late last year, new head, and all associated gear and it's back to running well, It tows my V8 hilux to the coast from Kaiapoi well although an EGT gauge and water temp guage i'd highly recommend (I have them now

)
I also offroad it only to pull a boat off the beach when at Motunau and towing boat to loch katrine so my knowledge of how good they are for offraoding is nil
Considering what you'll pay for the same type of year, mileage and setup from Toyota (Prado) they are real good value for money

thats the biggest thing with diesel engines and theres the proof.keep then feed with good fresh oil and they will go for ever.
I have a 92 and for the money its a blody good truck only problem ive had was when the gear box ran dry and blewup.and they all leak oil from the crank seals but Im trying an oil additve to hopefully stop this.

I've found the electrics to give way - the wiring; keeping in mind mine has had a very hard life before i got it..
So far found 7 rusty connectors and 5 dead cables. Good luck.
