im looking at buying a real cheap 410, and i was wanting to fit it with some 33's or 35x12.5-15 with some large offset wheels..
while im not looking at doing much of a lift im slicing the crap out of the guards to stop them from rubbing ( oh yeah its not going to be on road, ever)
For motorvation i want to keep the factory engine and drivetrain but turbo the stock engine and get an upgraded clutch..
i only want this vehicle for playing in some deep mud so im going to weld the diffs..
Can anyone see any prob with my plans or has anyone got a pic of a 410 with massive tyres
Cheers
Will.

Yeh the 1.0 will not turn 35's and the axles will not take the strain .
Start with a 413 , gives you far more options to upgrade when you do not have engough grunt . Ie you can fit a 1.6 engine to a 413 box , the axles are a bit stronger and may last running 33's in mud etc . A small supercharger would be easy to mount on the 413 , bit easier than a turbo .
Good luck .

hmmm, cheers rotazuk but this truck is free..
Im trying to do it on a shoe string budget, and the turbo is no drama to fit..
Is there a way of making a stronger drive train on the cheap?

I ran a standard 410 with 30 inch tyres. Didnt get up some hills in first low. Built a rock hopper transfercase and could now get up those hills, however in mud I couldnt spin tyres to clear tread. Insert swift gti engine, 413 gearbox, strengthened front 410 axles and 31" handcut tyres. Perfect combination. Could clear ruts that bigger vehicles on 35" made and had a awesome power to weight ratio. Your enthusiasm is great

but running that combination doent make sense
Follow rotazuks advice and start with a 413 (get said 410 for free, throw it on trademe and use funds to keep an eye out for a cheap 413) I wish I had had on done that 7 years ago....

the f10a doesn't last that long with a turbo either especially if you run it at over 10psi
i was looking at doing the something like that to my sc100 but have decided against it
if you know someone with an engine from an sc100 the head on it will give you an extra 2 hp i'm not joking take you from 43 up to 45 hp

Given that it's not hard to explode drivetrain parts on a std 410 on 30" tyres, a turbo & offset 35's would be lucky to last 5 min.
If you can't find a 413 just put some 30's on the 410 & use it. Start looking for a 413 t-case - you can build a lower geared transfer case by grafting together 413 & 410 bits.
Then start looking for some hilux axles & springs then a bigger motor/box/driveshafts/steering box to run the 35's

hey cheers all to the response's..
Ok, i have some 30 inch savero mt's kicking around so im going to use them for now..
As for the turbo idea im real keen to chase that so im going to give it a go.
But i will see what happens..
I also have been offered a 1992 toyota surf, for $600.. It has been crashed but the chassis is still mint as is all the running gear. And i was wondering is any of the gear can be reused, oh and im real handy with a welder.

Surf running gear would be good to chuck under a 410 chassis to make a hell bush truck, with the exception of the front diffs & IFS which are a well known weak point. get a solid front axle setup out of a hilux or early surf (with a matching ratio of course)
