1.6 vitara(escudo?) 16 valve efi
6.49 rock lobster transfer box
rear lock right
Rear disk conersion, disk converted hand brake
3" lift springs, still spring under axle
extended steel brake lines
tray backed rear and tubular front wings, cut down summer doors
front gigglepin 8274
rear good winch g10
3x optima batterys, relocated fuel tank from donor vitara.
265/75r16 insa turbo special tracks mounted on modified Grand Vitara steel wheels, cut out and re-welded to increase offset
160a alternator off range rover p38
standard shafts and C.V`s

It was built for winch punch events and play days.

Ive got a set of Land rover axles im thinking of fitting still undecided.

how do you find the gigglepin? ive heard good things about them but never seen them over here in nz

Be interested in what the sand/mud matting/bridging material is on the rear of the truck.

I've seen similar looking stuff used on a couple zuks down the road from me. I'm pretty sure it was just ali grating. Seems to be really good and not an arm and a leg like those max track things.

They a referred to as "Waffle Boards" and are made of glass reinforced plastic. They will support the weight of your truck are lightweight and will never corrode.

Like these ones.

Only saw them on two imported trucks, one was from scotland funnily enough. The ones I saw definitely seemed metal though being silver under paint. They also looked used ie a bit bent. Didn't try lift one so could be wrong. Google calls em bridging ladders too, not cheap.

Well they aren't as light as aluminium but can support the weight of your truck. Yeah mud will weigh them down to.

Cheap for me, we have 5m x 2m sheets of the stuff on the ship. Just cut myself a couple and took them home from Mexico

Try asking around for tread plate, punch plate or expanded ...(mesh?), cant remember exactly what the last 1 is called. Cut it into sections required and get some heavy but not too big (30x30ish) angle or box, taper ends and zig on edges, poss 1 in the middle. Steel or ally

I reccomend use on smallish 4wds only, to prevent excess warping recover using alternate sides.

On second look they seem like a butchered plastic pallet.... mean lookin ute though,

What he has on the back is commonly referred to as 'waffle boards' in the UK. They are a fibre planking that resembles a waffle hence name. Quite common in UK and available in various sizes up to 50mm thick.
Sometimes you see a similar type of product used on the DoC walking tracks around the place rather than the timber platforms they used to make.

Due to their strength they will support the wait of a vehicle and help cross ditches, climb rocks etc.
They weigh a bit especially the larger sizes.

The alloy planks you often see on exhibition vehicles and used in the Camel Trophy events are referred to as sand ladders. ideal for laying on the ground to help traction, especially across the deserts. Originally these were used for laying airfields during WWII. Cut down they became useful 'sand ladders' for crossing the Sahara but they can't support the weight of a vehicle like the waffle boards.

I have both types and have brought a few sets of the waffle boards in from the UK from time to time but they aren't cheap to ship in.
