Series 80 sunroof whisles

I was at the Rakaia today. Took the truck down a narrow track (no biggy). LOTS of tall gorse around. Heaps of pin stripping happening. Had bits of bush coming into the truck from the open sunroof. (won't leave it open again) Thought I cleared it all before trying to close it. Now it won't seal like it did and I would imagine, it will leak. It whisles like hell at 100k.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to fix it?

Cheers,
Pete.

quick question...........

when you shut it, did you shut the internal roof part as well

mine is slightly noisy if I leave that open, but shut the internal roof thingy and the noise is blocked off

Cheers skid.

Nah i didn't close the internal part. You're right. If I do the noise isn't as bad.
But before i stuffed it today it wasn't noisy at all. Sealed perfectly.

you've checked the seals and theres no foreign matter left in there guy? obvious i know, but thought i'd ask.. if it slides into rear of roof, theres no bits of branch in the cavity preventing full closure?

failing that, flick it to me and i'll have it..

Cheers nibs.

It's noisy on the front drivers side of the window. If you lift it higher into place the noise stops.
Yeah we did look and find shit loads of bush in the tracking but thought we pull it all out. The noise is FARKING annoying! I know the sunroof assembly has drain holes on each side helping any water exit. But I'd like to sort out the movement of the window. Try and get it sitting in the home location.
Geez. next time I'm in the bush I'll leave the sunroof closed.
It was open coz on the way out to the Rakaia the aircon adjuster pully bearing failed. No air con.

And Pete :? , how much trouble did you have with the JEEP :?:  I hope you haven't got one of those 80's that just need work all the time. A mate of mine has one, goes real good , ticks all the box's , but there is little things going wrong all the time, mainly electrical gremlins. He had a 70 series Prado before the 80, did 200+ K's over eight years and hardly touched it. They are starting to get a bit like you,

LONG IN THE TOOTH,

FITZY.
