Newbie in Blenheim
Evening All,
Matt here in Blenheim. Been truckless for a couple of years until today.
1980 BJ40 Landcruiser
1B Diesel with turbo
Looks to be a bit of a project to get it back on the road so any pointers pf where to get bits etc locally and good places to get some work done if I need it.
Cheers

For mechanical work, Craigs 4wd in Sutherland Terrace is the place to go.

Bang on there - he's VERY good! And Pete Leslie at Spring Creek Engineering for bar work / sandblasting / painting - he also has a BJ40 project....

Dave and muddy - thanks a heap for that.
She is running at the mo - pretty smoky and hard to start. 2 out of 4 glow plugs buggered. Air Filter basically fully of dead things.
Does Pete do roll aches do you know? I want to put a 6 point cage in it.
One more query - club(s) locally? good/bad

Re: Newbie in Blenheim
May be wrong, but thought cages needed to be certified? The local club would be worth joining. I won't bother as we always take our dog whenever we go anywhere, which aren't allowed on club trips, so we just head out alone.

Yep pretty sure they need certifying. It is already certed for suspension lift etc.
Definitely need proper padding in the passenger compartment these days.

Pics taken - now to just try and downscale them so they meet the specs for posting here.
So have created an album here;

More pics to come in due course - might see if I can get a video of the smoke it can billow!

Dunno Dave - I bought it from out Morgans road..
Not too bad condition - dead plates so will need re-vinning = plenty of time to get it sorted.

Thanks phraza.
The colour certainly looks pretty sharp, however I have no connection to V energy drinks in any way.
