Pajero stalling, need help!

Gidday, I need help to diagnose my pajero that keeps stalling. It is a 2002 3.2 auto with 248000km on the clock. It dosen't start as well as it should, mostly on the first attempt but takes a couple of seconds longer. When it is cold it seams to idle properly about 900rpm, however once you put it into drive or reverse it stalls unless you give it more revs. Once it warms up the idle drops to around 600-700rpm & eventually stalls, it also stalls sometimes when deccelerating. Any ideas/help would be great. I'm not too mechanically minded, but think it might be the injector pump, but dreading what that might cost. Cheers

it sounds like the cold start is working, but only pulling it up to 900rpm.
does it have the bosch ve style pump like on the older 2.8?
if so there is a threaded rod to adjust idle speed.

I'm taking it in to the mitsi dealer on Monday to get looked at. Was hoping someone may of had similar situation & give me a heads up as to whats wrong/what to expect.
Unsure if it is the same pump as the 2.8 but it's a good suggestion, will look into it.
