I went on a few safari type outings a few years ago & had a lot of fun - would like to see some more of Canty this way.
Tracks were full of scenery - one out near Waipara was a standout went for miles

Cheers

one of the best events to watch out for is the annual overnight winter trip up the Godley and Macauley valleys up to the glaciers organised on here, South Island Taz has run the last 2 and Al Bundy ran a few prior to that, its always limited coz of the accomodation space at Macauley hut and its a good one to take the Missus and kids on

Godley Glacier 29-31st July - 2 August?

Godley Glacier 6th/7th-8th August. - FULL
