Hi guys,

I have put a 1.6 G16A 16V into my Suzuki Samurai 1997. Had the auto sparkey doing my wiring and it wont start. Its not injecting but we have power to the injectors. We plugged into the computer and its telling us code 41 (4 flashes, pause, then 1 flash), which is Ignition signal, but we have ignition signal. Strange because the motor and loom came out of a running car which I drove into the shed and pulled the motor and loom out of it.
Has anyone come across this problem before, or knows what's wrong?

is the fuel pump relay hooked up?

where is the start signal wire conected to . (black/ yellow strip) it only requires +12v when the starter is cranking , not perminanlty .

When you say you have ignition signal, what do you mean?

Have you wired the tacho in?

Try this:

Disconnect the start wire from the starter motor.
Turn the key to the on position. The fuel pump should start briefly for about 1 second and then stop.
Turn the key to the start position and hold it there. The fuel pump should run continuously till you let the key go.

If the fuel pump doesn't do as described, then you the some power / ignition / start feeds wired up incorrectly.

If the pump does as described, then I'd be looking at how the tacho feed to the cluster was wired in. It needs to go from the Vit loom to the cluster, and the old connection from the cluster to the Samurai loom needs to be cut.

The auto sparkey came around this morning and what it turned out to be was code 41 is an Ignition fail safe. It’s the feedback signal from the coil, if the ECU doesn't see this signal then it cuts the injectors. The signal is taken from the noise suppressor and is the same signal that runs the rev counter.
So I managed to start it up sounds alright I think, hard to tell though in the shed

nice one bet your pleased to see it running, need to give it a real testing now:)
