Patrol/Safari factory locking diff bearings advice...?

Hey all.

Im looking at buying a factory locker to swap into my SWB Safari. The diff im looking into has done about 500,000km and need new bearings. Any one know approx how much it will cost to have the diff bearings in a factory locker replaced? For a gq/y60. I'd get a shop to do the fitting of the bearings and then swap the diffs myself.

Would be a good time for a diff shave too. Any one know how much i'd expect to pay for that?

Im on the West Coast so would most likely get the job done in Chch.

Cheers coxsy.

Gave A diff shop in chch a call and they quoted around 1k + gst for bearings, seals, oils and labour. Might have to keep my eye out for a diff that doesn't need new bearings! or another shop to do the job.

Price the bearings at a bearing supplier, ie, SKF, Wilsons. I'm sure someone can press new bearings on for fa. If you warm the bearings to 120 deg C, they should just drop on. Do some searching and learn how to setup diff yourself, or assemble and have someone else set it up.
