was giving the truck a check over and noticed the fan looks like its round the wrong way? Is it or is it just me imagining things?

unless your engine turns the other way or I've got it wrong as well it looks good to me

am thinking the blades should be the other way around with the pointy bit as the back edge. When you look at it,it looks like the way the curve is,it wouldn't grab the air properly?

I see your fan is starting to crack. Be careful with this. Mine has gone the same way, but I'm replacing it with an electric one anyway.

you couldnt put that on backwards if you tried. all good. look at direction of rotation and the leading edge. it is in front of the back edge meaning it hits the air and pulls it backwards over the engine

sweet as cheers for that. would rather a dumb question that silly mistake.
Have researched the electric fan thing and found two electric fans still don't flow as much as the single viscous one does and seeing as i'm planning on turboing it i'm goning to keep it.
Am on the hunt for another fan now.

If your on the hunt for another fan, and your intending to turbo it, maybe you might want to consider another option

The Viscous fan fitted to the TD42t (the turbo engine) is bigger.

It has a bigger viscous hub, and the fan has more blades and is a slightly different design. I presume this is to increase the performance of the fan in order to allow the cooling system to better deal with the extra heat created by the turbo charged engine.

I personally didn't get to try in myself before I passed my truck on to its new owner, so double check before spend up, but I was assured by water pump and fan specialist, Giant Pumps here in Hamilton that it was a straight swap as bother motors run the same water pump.

I've been told to put a seperate trans cooler on (if auto) and rip out that AC radiator to allow the main radiator full flow and the TD27T's keep cool longer.

Could I reuse the AC radiator as a trans cooler I wonder??

We found in the days of drag racing that the viscous fans just add to the power drain on the motor, and the TD27's aren't the gruntiest to begin with. Plus those viscous fans should be relabelled as vicious fans, they love the fingers.

No the a/c radiator doesn't have big enough tubes to flow the trans fluid thru.Been there tried that.
Yep put a seperate trans cooler in. Mine is comletly seperate from the radiator.works a treat.
Yeh the fans do drain a bit of power but the so do electric ones. Extra load on the alternator.If it shits itself out bush then you are relying on battery to get home. Fans can flatten a battery real quick.esp twin ones. And the alts arn't the biggest to start with either.Also just something else to go wrong.There is a reason the factory put them in instead of electic one.

Oh and if it ca take fingers off then might pay not to put them in there aye
