Both North and South Island have been withdrawn to be updated. Peter V may have more info on when they'll be available again.

Yep - they are the old ones - will be good to compare - specially given DOC's new directive's to be more inclusive of other recreational use of Public land.

DOC have re-released the places to go on their website.

*Off-road driving in conservation areas*
View updated information on where you can 4WD on DOC managed
conservation land in the _*North Island*_
http://www.doc.govt.nz/pdfs/4wd-north-island.pdf (PDF, 203K) and
_*South Island*_ http://www.doc.govt.nz/pdfs/4wd-south-island.pdf
(PDF, 255K).

If you have comment on the accuracy of their information I'd be pleased to keep DOC updated. These advisory bulletins will be periodically updated to reflect changes.

Anyone know if they are going to re-activate this? It's quite weird how some the vastly different responses you get from diffrent DOC office's.

The best one found so far would have to be Refton. They even give you a free map showing you all the good spots  As aposed to chasing you out of the office when you mention 4wd'ing like... Nelson Lakes

Yes the links are all up and running
Sorry that they were off line for a while. I have been talking to DOC in Canterbury and they say that whilst the update the site the link may still occasionally go down.
Hope you all find them usefull.

I'll fix that. I'll put the pdf's up on Offroad-Express in a permanent location. Never loose them again  If they happen to get updated someone let me know and I'll upload the new ones to the site. :D

DOC Pulled the pdf's at the request of the NZFWDA because of information that was wrong. You will notice that the NZFWDA info is at the bottom of both North Island and South Island if you need to get hold of us
