T Belt light

Post by Heath »

I cant find the link to resetting the t belt light. Mines just ticked over 200K and there it is. Belt was changed 25K ago so it should be fine.

Is it a matter of just popping the dash off and flicking a switch?

For your 90 you need to pull the guage cluster out and its a screw on the back of it you need to screw in and out (earlier ones have it on the front). its not too bad to get it out.

I can scan a pic from my book if you need as well

Hey Heath cant remember if you have the new or old shaped Prado
For the old shaped Prado...
There is a plastic bung on the clear cover on the left hand side of the speedo.....(next to T belt light)
Remove and use a long stick to push in the button.
Here's a photo you can just see it.

90's don't have the screw on the front

screwing the screw in and out should work (as well as removing the bulb)

drop the bottom kick panel, the steering wheel surrond thingy then the cover behind it.... the instrument shade then is removable, the cluster then comes out easily ...

be aware there is an aircon sensor tube in the bottom kick pamel which needs taking off and reconnecting....

The price of progress eh.

A simple proceedure in the older model becomes an asshat of a job in this model and then the digital dash comes along and its as simple as pushing the odo stick and turning on the key (found that proceedure online and will post it here for other's future reference).

I guess the simple 10 minute job wont be. Might just ignore it for a while then.
