Terrano Auto TCU Location

Post by u13turbo »

As some of you may know, my terrano went for a swim, and ever since wont select 1st or overdrive, tried several things(including a new gearbox!) including what i thought was the TCU. But I recently bought a manual terrano and found one of these computers in it, And im sure an auto trans comp would have no use in a manual truck.

So for whoever knows, where can i find the TCU, pics would be great.

Cheers!

Trans computer is in the rear just behind the wheel arch on the passengers side behind the trim panels. Pop those off and you should find it.

I never posted before because I assumed you knew where it was!!!!!

It might be abit late for the old terrano.
but you could try ripping all the carpet and seats out
shouldn't take to long then whatever ecu looking  units you find,
chuck them in the hot water cupboard
since it happened last year they may have corroded up abit
pull the top off one and see how it looks
another d21 terrano

The EGR ecu is in the rear left guard, in a tin box. Nothing to do with your auto thou. I seem to remember a smaller black box in this area aswell?? Manuel TD27t's have 3wire TPS, autos have 5wire TPS, so those extra 2 wires gotta go somewhere. All I can think of sorry

It's in the right rear panel, or the left rear, can't remember which :-), just above the rear wheel arch, remove the rear trim and you will find it, depending on model there may be up to 3 boxes in there, it should be the one furthest towards the front of the truck
