Hi All
Is there any one out there in Auckland who can lend me a transmission adapter for a trolley jack or a transmission jack?
Need to drop the auto out and it looks heavy....
Will drop the transfer case by hand.....
The truck is on its wheels so need one of those low trans jacks.
Thanks in advance.
Ph contact is 8336262

sounds like a major issue, hope not to bad, sorry cant help with the jack, when I did mine I found a chain block in through the sun roof with a tree trunk protector wrapped around it worked well.
Good luck

Hehhehe I did think of that too Mike.
Nothing too serious, has a trans oil leak from the seal on the torque converter...Been getting worse and worse over the last few trips...
Big job for a small and cheap seal....
At least I can do it myself...
Want to fix it before the Easter event...

Re: Transmission jack or adapter to borrow
We have a wooden frame we made up for ours ...you can borrow it if you want, but it's nothing flash. It was made for lifting just the auto and adapter, but still works with the transfer case hanging off the back (just need to keep a hand on the box to keep it from tilting over). I think it would still be a two person job though.
But I'm sure someone of your skills could whip up something better?
Edit: ...I just remembered our jack doesn't have enough travel to get the box up high enough - we have to let the air out of the front tyres (something to keep in mind if you're going to make something up)

Yup, a chain block hanging of the roll-cage in our cruiser worked wonders!

Re: Transmission jack or adapter to borrow
I have made one now....
From a bits of a toyota fairlead.....
And some bits of steel left over from my trolley build....
