TD27 removal - R50 Terrano

Hey all,

I'm in the process of swapping out the motor in a 1996 R50 terrano..
It looks like I'm either going to have to drop the front diff off or the transmission to get it out, cause of sump clearance, is that right? Or is there another trick to it?

Cheers :)

Jay

Drop the diff. Easy after that.

We just droped the torsions down at the back, undid the gear box mounts, undid the drive shafts ect and slid the gear box back as far as we could.

R50's don't have torsions, aren't they struts on the front :?

Don't know how easy the front diff is in one of those, but I have D21's down to a fine art. Can do one in an afternoon, single handed

Cheers,

Just for anyone reading this thread in the future, dropping the front diff on an R50 terrano is really easy... 4 big bolts and 6 smaller ones per side and it drops right off! (make sure u support it with a jack or it will hit the ground hard)Tool me about 20 mins working alone. Easy :)

Cheers!
