land rover id

I have an old flat deck land rover - i believe is a mid 70s model how do i confirm the year/ model?
Standard factory 2 ltr petrol engine.

1st of all post up a pic :D

Do you have the VIN or Chassis No.?

The chassis number is stamped on a alloy plate. This plate is rivited to the bulk head.

Its usually in the middle infront of the gear stick.

Ok the number on the sticker in front of the gear shift is - 25321535 C (last letter could be a half stamped O). It says its a serries 2a but the head lights are in the radiaitor recess.

Yes the earlier 2a's had the recessed headlights. Later 2a's had them in the guards with a steel grille and the 3's had them in the guards with a plastic grille :wink:
