Longfields into ARB Locker Difficult to fit

Post by suzolla »

Hi,
Has anyone had difficulty fitting new Longfield axles into a new ARB Locker.
I have got 2 Hilux lockers and could only get a Longfield axle into one side of one locker, it is a snug fit but will slide in, on the other 3 sidegears the axle will only go in about 5 to 10mm, a bit further with the assistance of a soft hammer, but very tight to get out.

Tried a Dirty 30 and it flew in on them all.

Anyone else had problems fitting theirs.

Seems like the Longs are a tiny bit too big, not sure if it is on the spline flanks or on the diameters.

Cheers
Tim

sounds a bit like a batch thing, my longfields are about 4 years old and have been in the front of both trucks with ARB's and slide in no prob, ones a RD33 and I'm not sure if the others the same or the earlier predecessor ARB?
