Solid axle caliper removal

Before I try it and get frustrated  has anyone managed to remove the brake calipers on a solid axle hilux without disconnecting the rubber hose from the solid pipe ontop of the hub? I just need to move them out the way to get the hubs out to change the axle seals so if I can do it without the hassle of getting brake fluid everywhere and having to bleed the brakes would be good :)

Cheers,
Clive

Yeap. Take the clip off the line where it goes throught he bracket (its on the under side. This should if you are careful give you enough movement to giggle it off.

I thought it might just be doable if i took that clip off. I know you can get a slight amount of bend out of those hard lines too, but they do like to crack if you go too far from memory  from many moons ago my old austin had the same tube as vacuum lines on the manifold

when you have them off get your grinder and cut a slit in the bracket .then they come out like normal

I suppose they didn't really think of that when they designed them since you can change the pads with the caliper in place
