I've got a 90 td27 terrano auto. Will the v6 motor drop straight in or will i need to change the gearbox as well? At this stage I'm looking at options with the motor swap being option 1 and option 2 is putting the body onto a safari chassis. What problems will I have with both of these?

Don't bother swapping to a v6 engine, you could buy a factory v6 terrano for way cheaper than the conversion would cost...
Way more to it than just swap engine/ gearbox. Consider all wiring for engine (efi computer loom etc), change of fuel lines and efi fuel pump in tank. It adds up in time and components real quick...

Was thinking of buying the v6 but then I have to start over and after all the time I've put into the current one it would be a waste. The only problems I have with the current motor is the lack of grunt and as of a couple of weeks ago, no diesel is making it into the motor

How much grunt are you after? Guys on here get good power out of td27's, you'd be better off finding the fueling issue, then spending the money on a 2.5-3" exhaust, top mount intercooler, 18psi boost, and wind your fuel upto match

GREAT! I got rid of my 1993 TD27 cause it is the most guttless TD on the market..........tried to pull my single axle trailer with my 350 FJ40 club truck and it ran hot on the flats and then the hills towards Benndale it went straight to the red and was belching smoke and sucked a tank on 230km........so glad its gone. The Mistral with the same motor is no better! All a waste of time and money.
Better to buy a v6 and chnage the intake and exhaust and ur away!
