New thermo fan can make a big difference, and I would look at removing the rad and getting it rodded at a radiator shop. Worth doing if it's getting up in milage anyway, no harm in giving the cooling system once over.

x2. Even if externally the radiator looks brand new the fins can be blocked meaning your not getting full cooling out of it.

if your kms are getting up and you havnt serviced the radiator before id def take it to a radiator repair shop and have the bottom tank popped off and the core rodded. I used to work in a rad shop and the state of the inside of some radiators was shocking even if the core looked mint

Hi

I can think of a list to go through in this situation...
1. Get interior of radiator cleaned by a Professional shop.
2. replace thermostat and radiator cap.
3. Check viscous coupling fan. Does it need more fluid? Or Replaced?
4. Does the water pump need to be replaced? Normal not a issue here but is it noisy or leaking?
5 Then getting a bit more serious, Is this a blown head gasket? water in the engine oil or oil in the radiator? Or bubbles in the radiator with the pressure cap off and the water pump disconnected?

Henry...

All as above plus, is it the right thermostat? Should be a bypass one with a valve on the bottom.

Look at it this way, $130 to fix radiator, or $1500 to replace cooked motor.

I meant that I have had it done cheaper last time I had a radiator done it was only $80 had a couple of leaks fixed and it was blocked up where this time it was $130 and only 10% blocked just wished it fixed my heating issues.
