black round rubbery ones would be a start

you will need to give details on what you want to do
whether its a DD or not?
radials or cross ply?
loaded tourer or just a weekend toy?
the list goes on...
every body will say what they are running is the best
but just take it it all on board and remember that oppinions are just like rectums every has them and what comes out aint always that pretty

Re: new to 4wd what off road tyres would you recomend?
90% off road and after some real good grip in bogs as 80% of the time im on pete which is like bog thats whats around here but after ones that will last since i have to drive her on road to get some weekend 4wd in on the coast aswell

Peat? So guessing you're in the Waikato area?
Peat is usually a firmer dry crust on top of deep super soft decaying stuff.
When farming outside Cambridge we always bolted as many wheels as possible onto the tractors so they stayed on top, ie 1 tractor would have up to 10 wheels, all driven.
On a 4WD I'd expect big wide tyres at low pressure would be best, the Waikato guys on here will have more experience in peat.

no im in wellington out the back of upper hutt have roughly 2500 acres of peat and 1000 acres of clay hills the peat only has a crust on during summer winter shes a bog practically every where and yes the wider you go the better but i can only go as wide as pajero will let me
