I've got a R151 to 1UZ adaptor with bellhousing if you need it ....

Could try Brian howat re conversion

Otherwise it may be easier to keep standard and throw another 1kz in?

A 1kz from a 90 series playdoh might be an option as well if you can get one being wrecked

if possible get some quotes first and then put it up on here who you are favoring as the prices will vary but so will the quality of the install

imho

Now that's a good question... One which I asked myself when the head went a few years back...
From my "observations" the 4L Lexus V8 could be a little small for a LWB Prado (if that's what you have)
You need to rev them to get them to hummmmmmm... And if you tweak them they can suck the petrol quickly...
A light truck they work great.....

I like the torque down low on the diesel.....
So my vote is Diesel reco first...(you know it works and its a cost that is set)
Chevy 350 old school (for the torque) next...

Dont bother with the lexus they should be left in cars. Replace it with a low k 1kzte or if u really want a v8 get a late model 350 chev. Lexus motors size wise arent much smaller than a bigblock chev plus you have to get it certed etc and change the fuel system. but you wouldnt get bent over everytime you need roadusers. What do you use the truck for?

keep with the 1kz, fit a good exhaust system 2.5inch from turbo back works well, snorkel and up the boost if you feel you need more. you will be impressed with how much power the 1kz can make. Oh and when the motor is rebuild/replaced make sure the egr is removed.

This is about spot on, 1400 engine trans etc(complete)
700 aftermarket ecu
500 (getting a mate to install engine trans etc new exhaust mod sump)
500 wiring (perk job by auto sparky)
400 cert

Im not sure I would have done it had my engine been a 1KZte but IMO best option for replacing a farked 2lte.
Oh and remember V8s make cool noise :!:
Softroader VW Amarok nowadays....

Keep the 1kz, could throw on a 1kz-T pump from kaiapoi repowers , pulls harder than school boy on prom night, Then add the bigger turbo. :D

i would repower it,
uzfe are ok, cheapish motor, rev well, go well with a good tune, not so torquey,
LS1 if you have the cash, 3-5k for motor, more cubes, lighter, more torque, less moving bits to go wrong, a bit more basic engine.

what road use it going to get, fuels bill can be good if you dont use right pedal, no road user charges, sounds better, more likelyto break running gear,
personal choice end of day.
