LN60 body swap for LN61

Post by Goose »

Hey, does anyone know if a LN61 body will fit on a LN60 chassis?

All going well I should have the 60 on saturday, and the 61 not far after. I want to put the 61 body on as the 60 met with an untimely demise when the motor blew..... he shot it in the drivers door.......

So, that said, otherwise the 60 body is very tidy, but the 61 is too (and it's black!!) so if anyone wants a 60 body (painted cammo) with a few holes in the door, and a 61 IFS chassis (stay out of it steve!! we are all well aware of what you think of IFS!! ) let me know.... also a gearbox from a 60 too I suppose.....

Exactly the same swap that matt4u did, he'll know of any differences. I own a 60 and a 61 and I don't see any sifferences. My 61 is shot so using it to tidy the 60 series up a bit

OK, just been out to see it, it looks as though it was cammo, then someone has painted black over most of it. It would need a paint job to be mint. Other than that, it's really straight, and the interior is in bloody good condition for it's age. The motor is seized, but the gearbox is good.

So, to recap.... 1 LN60 body, 1 LN60 gearbox, 1 LN61 chassis for sale.

Holy crap!! I didn't think there'd be so much interest in it!!

I like to be as fair as possible when selling stuff, monaro427 asked about body 1st, rokhound asked about "ifs bits" 2nd, so in the interest of fairness they would have 1st go at it.....provided the price was right

or you could all get together and fight to the death for it... either way, works for me

and incase it does work out for you hustler, yes, 100% complete chassis.

cheers guys

Oh yeah, it's got a TJM bull bar on it (sorry, already sold it to a mate), but I dont know what it's worth. Its steel, painted black, made for a surf with indicators mounted in it etc.... what's it worth????

I've done that swap before too... pretty much a straight swap from memory... don't think we had to do anything to it... body mounts are all the same and in the same place.

As for the parts - set up a cage fight... post the video :)

Sweet, I like the way you're thinking steve!!

Talkin to matt4u in chat the other day, the only thing he had to do was put the 61 handbrake cable onto the 60 chassis, and shorten up the steering shaft, or something to that effect, should be easy.... :D

but why before wednesday....???

anyway, I was gonna try and get the body off the 60 here... you've got way to much shit clogging up your work now, let alone having another 4wd there!! (bloody niblik!!)

we could always just dump all the 40 series crap outside tho.....

just be sure to use rego for the beam axle surf not the IFS one. WOF man might pick up on incorrect chassis, has happened to a friend of mine due to the details on VIN plate being incorrect

hehe, I go to a guy who's been a mate for years, I was his first customer when he opened his shop 14 years ago, so he never looks too hard at my stuff......... he only seems to check the body plate, I've never seen him check the chassis plate, although I've heard about and experienced testing station bullsh#t before, so I hear what you're saying brother!!
