DUH, they aren't meant to handle like a car, I've got one and it's handled all the abuse I've given it and standard, it will piss all over a standard Smurf. Smurf's are just a glorified urban people mover and just as well they are common and cheap to buy because they crap themselves all the time.

very true! I do indeed own a 91 model rugger and it is a great wagon, albeit rock hard suspension. I would like to upgrade to the independent model.
If i wanted a surf like the other 100000 others on the road, id ask for one!

I dont mind the Ruggers ,they seem to have a solid feel & strong engine ,& they are a little cheaper to buy than a good surf, but i disagree with you about the offroad abilties of the surf.Dont slag the machine just becuase the owner doesnt drive it for what its partly designed for.& the only reason you have the preception that they crap out is becuase there are( i agree) so many around & any vehicle has a certain percentage of breakdowns. But i doubt that percentage is any higher than the rugger, bighorn or any other 4wd,that you dont see anywhere as many on the roads.
Im sick of the sight of Skylines, but you dont see me slaggin them off, there a good car & i used to want one ,but there like ass&^%'s now ,everyone has one.

But good luck Wayfarer finding your Rugger,as they arent often availible (good ones anyway).& might get snaped up pretty quick.

Two buddies have owned Ruggers/Rockys and the gearbox and transfer cases in them both gave heaps of problems, parts were almost impossible to get for the transfer cases
