I need to get some more sheer pins for my PTO Winch, dose anyone on here know of an after market supplier of them?
I have just ordered 2 through Nissan and thought that $28 each was abit steep

Most guys replace them with bolts.....
Have a search of the forum, plenty of discussions about shear pins.

I had done a search on sheer pins but couldn't find anyone talking about an after market supplier. I am not to keen on running bolts as I have seen winches distroyed because the bolt didn't sheer

use the same grade steel as the pins and there should not be a problem

people that blow the pto winches apart are either generally competing hard or not listening to what the evhicle is doing (from experiance here )

buying pins is a gamble have payed any thing from $20 to $28,go see a dude with a lathe and some 4.4 m8 bolts halfhour each

I have successfully used for the last few years a grade 8.8 M8 bolt in place of the shear pin at the PTO box and A grade 4.8 M8 bolt at the winch end. The Winch end shear bolt is easier to change on the trail rather than climbing under a muddy truck to change the PTO box shear bolt. Has worked well for me.

good advice that

I just run 8.8 M8 bolts with a long shank in my nissan winch and dont have problems with breaking shearpins or winches, as mudlva says you need to listen to what your winch is doing and if its getting too hard for it drop down a gear (I can coz my PTOs off the transfercase not the front of the gearbox ) or back off or do a double line pull or reassess how your trying to winch your truck

Guessing mine has been replaced with heavier bolts as I have had some big loads on my winch (enough to get the oil boiling out the breather and the clutch starting to slip) and she has kept on pulling. Once even had the cable come off the side of the drum and wrap itself around the body of the winch while pulling a ute with a tralier and 6m of firewood up a hill and still didn't break anything. Aside from competiton I think you would be hard pressed to kill one of these winches as Nissan has over engineered them like everything thing else on a Safari.
