petefj40 selling his V8 Lexus buggy.

Post by petefj40 »

Might come as a shock to a couple of people on here, but it's time for change for me.

I'm not going to do this years Winch comps as of today. As I've decided to sell the rig 'on the trailer'.
It would be easy for someone to get into as it's a,"turn the key and go!" the way it's setup now.
In saying that, I was going to bin the rover 'A' frame link in the rear and do a 4 link before the first comp. But it does work fine as it is. A '4 link' would improve it though.

Not sure on the price just now. I don't need a fast sale so if I have to wait for a couple of months, so be it. it'll be on trademe in the next few days.
Before I spent anything on it ,it owed me $16k. There's been many improvements since.

It's been fun owning it. I know my boy loves it but as I said to him today. We'll get another one day.

If you know of anyone interested below is my number.
Again, I'm not looking at a fast deal but nor am I going to let someone buy on time payment, I'm not interested in swaps either. This is a cash sale only.

Thanks,
Pete.

Though it's being sold with beadlock rims, the street legal rims pictured here aren't the rims on the buggy currently. But the half worn Simex triple blocks are on the current beadlocks. :D
I'll upload current pix in the trademe add later this week.

Pete, I dont know your plans but IMHO I reckon you should stick with the buggy unless you can sell it for what you have put into it.

Seams that the FJ40 you sold would have been a perfect WOF/Rego'd winch truck (if that is actually your plan) but you have already previously decided that a dedicated offroad trailered buggy would be more fun (and I can understand the logic behind that).

Sounds like you're taking a step back to where you were previously but loosing cash each time thew vehicle changes...

Apologies if I am completely wrong here - the above is just my opinion for what it is worth. Other side is: life is short and do whatever makes you happy.

You're dead right mate.
But sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards.
Certainly in my case anyway. That's I do things.
