WTB toyota landcruiser FJ40

Post by nickcampbell »

Gidday all, i'm after a toyota FJ40, for my next project. Prefer something that is tidy (as little rust as possible/ no rust) has original seats, and electrics. If anyone has one, or knows of someone with one, please let me know :)
Also will be looking for a 350chev + 5speed manual gearbox to go with it.

lets face it what ever you end up buying you are going to have to cut out rust so you might as well buy a rusty one and pay the cheaper price (leaving some cash to fix it up). I dont reckon its worth buying the one with the nice paint job but full of rust and bog that will be double the price and need just as much work if you want it to be tidy
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!

Not necessarily, there are more and more FJ40 tubs around that have had quality repairs already done. You may even get lucky and find one with a fiberglass tub...

I do agree with the main point in the above comment that that if you need to do any significant rust work then there is no point paying for a truck with a pretty paint job.

im not sure, id prefer to spend 3-5k for a body that only requires me to paint it with minor rust repairs needed, than buy something for 1.5-2k that requires 60% + of panels to be fixed. im trying to get hold of classicruisers (forgot his real name) anyone know where he works from or his cell#?

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.
