The purpose of the Terrano driveshaft loop

Hey All

What is the purpose of that big driveshaft loop in the Terrano D21's?

To catch the driveshaft if it sh!ts a uj, beats pole vaulting on the motorway :(

Interesting, would have thought that the cross-member might stop that, but I guess it doesn't have the ability to stop it flaping around.

Wondering if it really needs to go back in :-)

i did my uj 4km down a track and was able to crawl back to end of track with drive shaft inside hoop, wouldnt of been able to if the hoop wasnt there.
