td27 swap

Post by bigfoot »

hay guys, im thinking of binning my vg30 and puting in a td27 :!:

can anyone tell me if this statement below ive found in a site from sum part of the world is true :?: im a vergin to all things about moding and swaping.
v
v
v
v
v

Thrown out all electronics, ECU, etc, because TD27 needs only "+" from battery to the starter and to the key-lock. No computer or useless wires.

so going by this what i would have to do is... new fuel pump in tank, prob new fuel lines, replace or fab up sum engine mounts and bit of exust from off turbo to the cat? does this apply to all td27s or do i have to search for an older type :?:

any advice, info corrections help will be super awsum. :D
cheers dave

Pretty much.... But always more complicated than 1st thinking.
Why you planning on doing the swap? Have you got electrical problems?

Off the top of my head,
Wires wise- starter, alternator and + to fuel pump, then also oil/temp guages.
Fuel tank may be different, but you don't need a fuelpump.
Fuel lines and filter way different.
Gearbox different (unless you got an auto, but then wiring and ecu for trans still exists)
Exhaust- front part different, rear part??
Engine mounts to chassis? Don't know.
Front diff different (v6 has bigger, may fit under diesel engine- I will find out soon 8) )

plus certification needed = another $500

I would say sell your v6 terrano and buy a factory diesel. And save yourself headaches and many $$$.
My 5cents anyways,
Nath
