I f*&^n hate the redneck bars is what i call them. Cowboys put them on their Utes trust me its gets worse. Most of them have big bundy mud flaps two massive gme aerials. Covered in stupid stickers. They are trying to outlaw bull bars in Australia as far as i know they have not yet. Which is so ridiculous

and few 4wd's are not lifted, snorkeled and roof rack front bar an winch

it would make sence if they do alot of night driving on the open highways, other than that they look pretty retarded

May look stupid a 5 post bullbar but google search why they have them, save lots of lives out in back roads, just picture cruzing at 120 in dark and a roo pops out, would u prefer no bar or that bar??

whilst working over ther I have seen them on vehicles such as subaru brumby utes and outback wagons. all the big ford and holdens. Even seen one on a toyota corolla I couldnt stop laughing everytime I looked at it .

They do have there purpose though some of the roo's over there do get bigger than 6ft. Have seen the side of a 80 ser cruser totaly caved in from a roo jumping into the side of it, was complete write off

they even have roo chases they put on the bar. they look like small black speeker and emit an ultra sonic squeel that you can sometime just hear if your ears are sharp enough. there suposed to detur the roos from jumping into the headlights..... aparantly they worked???

When I was a young fella, that design of bar was common on heavy trucks here and on 4x4s too.

The general idea was to prevent the animal going across the bonnet and through the windscreen. Concern for pedestrians did not seem to be considered back in the day..

I am in the Pilbara at the moment (NW WA) and steel front bars are a standard fitment on vehicles. Mostly because of wandering cattle. In fact I hit one the other night. As it happened a bus coming the other way (also with bar) hit the same animal just after we did. If we didn't kill it, the bus certainly did...

Every ute an 4x4 you see out in central Queensland has at the very minimum, an Arb bar fitted. Those 5 post bars are also very common. It's not just the hillbillies that have them
The Arb bar on my hilux has saved it from a few Roos already, but I've only hit small ones. Don't see too many stray cattle but we do see plenty of big Roos an pigs on the road an on-site on the haul roads.
These bars do serve a very good purpose here

Don't forget the Wombats. Solid as a pig.

Anyone else think of the Japanese BOSO style when they look at those pics?

I'm currently driving in the outback as we speak, wish we had a set, the roos are bastards and wandering cattle is bad in some places

Ill upload some of the pics I've got from over here(queensland) hid lights an roo bars are a must. On my way to work this week I came across 6 cows sleeping on the road at 5am. An hour up the road I passed skid marks a falcon one tonner an a dead bull. If the utes still there I'll take a pic of the front end it's pretty messy
