Well ,now sadams truck is in its new home it frees up my garage for my next project.Have been gathering bits over the last couple of years and now its time to start putting it all together. Started with a LJ70 prado with no engine/gearbox etc .Have got an LS1 out of a 2001 commodore plus 4l60e auto from similar holden .Transfer will be prado auto one as they are semi divorced ( compared to manual one ) but still the mighty cruiser split type.A mate has made me up an adapter plate for it and will spline the auto output shaft to suit the cruiser coupler shaft . Have an electric locker left over from wrecking an 80 a few years back (which is in skids 80 at the moment) .So am planning to put a full size cruiser back housing in it ,A 60 series full floater which i had earmarked for the 40 but will find another one for that later. A mate is building a new rally truck and had a prado back housing he was using but didn't need the brackets so i have plasma cut them off to use on my new housing.Have got as far as motor is sitting in place with a dummy auto to check for clearances .A hell of a lot tighter fit than sadams motor as i want to keep the aircon but commodores have the alternator down low on one side and the ac pump on the other .Doesn't give me a lot of clearance ,About 10mm from ac pump to steering shaft and 15mm from alternator to chassis rail.Have fabbed up some engine mounts tonight and will try and tack them to the chassis this week some time .So thats where we are up to .Am trying to push this build along so i can get it certed before the new lift laws come in. and before you all scream IT DIDN"T HAPPEN WITHOUT PHOTOS i will try and take a bunch this weekend when its daytime .Garage is too dark to take photos at night will need to roll wagon out to get some decent ones cheers sig
