Hello everyone - New guy in CHCH

Post by KotangKort »

Hi everyone
So im from chch and have an 89 surf coupe (5 spd) with a pretty sad 3y engine and no engine/body mods..............YET :)

I've taken the beast out twice now (nothing to major) and really enjoy the freedom/adventure. Plans for now are just to raise it and sort sum decent off road rims (15x10's) and tires (33x?). Later on i'll be looking at a engine swap and was thinking the supra engine would be sufficient enough (opinions?).

Also can i raise my truck very high and put 33s on without having to cert it or is it not worth it and should just i wait till i'm ready to do the engine swap?

Thanks guys :D

hi kort hows it? u jds bro? if so its john (green s14)

how ya going mate?

welcome aboard

To fit 33's you'll need to raise suspension 50mm and pos bodylift aswell. U will need a cert for bodylifts and pretty sure you'll need 1 for the 33's aswell pending where u get wofs. U might also find the 3y may lack power to turn the 33 tires.

Ok guys so im thinking of grabbing 1 of these kits but would really like sum opinions on it as im new to this. Will the whole steering wheel on the left thing get in the way?
let me know what ya think,
Will i get more grief from the cert guy with the kit being from states?

The price seems gud considering i'll be looking at $1500+ just for the 2" spring n shock lift.

Thanks :)
