Bugger,

Most tyre shops wont repair it, WOF man wont like it either

Tube would work, but mud and crap will soon work itself in and ruin the tube.

Yes you can get them repaired, but the catch is that they won't pass a wof not because its being repaired, but because once it has been repaired the speed and traction ratings are null and void, basically making it an non D.O.T rated tire such as race car tires and purpose off road tires.

theres the "tyre doctor" in otahuhu who will easily repair that and it will be legal

hes repaired two of my tyres when a a group of vehicles had there tyres slashed in a cinemas carpark a few years back

he has also just last year repaired a 33 swamper tyre that had a small branch puncher the side wall

both times i asked about it being a rear tyre only and both times he said tyre was mint and legal for front or rear

regarding the swamper he had to do a little more on the inside so it didnt end up damaging the tube when it was all put back together

well worth having a chat

regards

vulcanising tyres is perfectly legal and wofable. get it repaired properly and professionally. dont just stick a tube in it as the tube will protrude thru the hole and the hole has weakened the sidewall. once its vulcanised it will be fully legal. but as the nylon cords have been cut the casing wont be as strong as it once was. chuck it on the rear.
needs more curry

I'll add a vote to The tyre doctor in otahuhu, they get anything we need to get done for customers. If it can be done safely, they can do it.
