Radiator shop recommendation - Auckland Central

Post by TJ »

Just noticed a bit more than usual condensation on the bottom tank of my TJ's radiator, and yep its on the way out. Any recommendations for a good shop to get a all metal radiator done up. I am thinking about going electric fan at the same time to get rid of the belt/clutch fan as well.

Well, any recommendations from anywhere a bit wider the? Just don't want replacement to have plastic top and bottom tanks.

Thanks Calvin. They don't list one for Wrangler, but at least their radiators are all metal. I'll call them tomorrow.

Silverdale Radiators didn't have one for a Wrangler without plastic tanks.

Just ordered a brass and copper one from Trevor Morris Radiators in Onehunga. Gave me trade price because nobody orders them nowadays, everybody goes for cheaper plastic tank ones. It comes in next week.

I rang round this week for the same thing, and they (TMR) were by far and away the best price

Very helpful guy at the shop. He told me all the normal ones are actually made in china for LHD Jeeps. To fit, you just use old wings/brackets and swap them to the new radiator and it works (which is what they did at the factory as well). Brass/Copper ones are made in Australia and are made specifically for RHD Jeeps with welded on brackets. Cost me $540.

Yup, Visited Trevor Morris Radiators also, and got my new TJ Full Metal Radiator off them and they were more than helpful.

There price on the full metal unit was better that the rest that were only offering units with plastics tanks...

+1 for TMR
