22-24th June
22-24th June
Well my weekend has kinda started. Im on and off work for the day with kids days at kindy and picking up car trailer for our road trip to Hamilton tomorrow. We are picking up another falcon for some parts for our one.
Had to replace the brake pads on the bighorn last night and put the 31s on for towing duty, looks very strange haha.
Since cleaning out the intake its seems to have fixed my over fueling issue so fingers crossed its nothing else otherwise its going to be a expensive trip to hamilton.

Re: 22-24th June
today picked up the Cambelt, waterpump and tensioner bearing, ordered an exhaust gasket, swapped over bell housings and just about to go to jaycar to get some electric window switches.
Tomorrow I will be doing a bit of a pick-a-part mission for some shocks, engine mount, electric fan and alternator. So long as they have a Suzuki in there

Re: 22-24th June
its been a reasonably successful week so far.
installed the little 2" lift. had the usual stuck bolts, had a bit of a job getting one of the suspension arms lined up. a jack and a tiedown for a winch solved that by rolling the axle over a bit.
not to sure about front diff drop, might get away without it.
started fitting locker. got half done but noticed there is to many teeth on the ring. looks like someones fitted 4.56 gears. will check the rear in case some dumb bugger fitted wrong gear in the front.

Re: 22-24th June
Well picked up a good fan for the Suzuki.
and also had a cry at pick a part. As we were driving there a guy in a fairly nice FJ40 went round the round a bout in front of us and went into pick a part. Thought oh yea sweet as.
Turned out he was selling it to pick apart for $330. I called all my mates and no one picked up. Forgot to call my mum who had money we could have used to buy it. I offered him $500 for it by the end of the day and he just wanted the money now. It was a mint runner, didn't idle but no smoke, fiberglass bonnet and rear doors, god bumper etc. and bets of all the reg was still live.
I will be talking to the manager at pick a part Monday morning and seeing if I can get it off him whole and with plates Monday. Just too good a truck to go to pick a part. bloody old idiots. Said he bought it on trademe and it was worse than what he thought so he just wanted rid of it. FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK

Do you have fuel in the rail? If so check the injectors are firing.

I had a look at it today. The fiberglass bits, rear tail lights and the chassis where about the only good things I saw. Apartently the idiot took the thing in with no water in it so the engine is all but cooked. It has some Surspicously (sorry bad spelling) placed stainless panels on the body in about the right place to hid rust. I asked about buying it and was told they don't sell unregister vehicals. If they do sell it, which is unlikely they will want about $5000 for it to cover the cost of what they would get for parts. Plus if they keep it they will get more for the scrap metal.
If you could get it for $500 then it would be worth it, but I don't see that happening.
