Hi All,

Finally bit the bullet and brought a 89 swb safari :D problem is the tacho isn't working :( not a biggie, but I would like it to work. I've done some research but there seems to be no way of testing the sensor? is this correct? All the other gauges work in the cluster so I would have thought it would be the sensor rather the cluster? If it is the cluster, who would repair them in n.z and whats the cost roughly?

any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Grant

I think it is pretty common for the sensor to crap out, mine wasn't working when I got it but everything else on the cluster worked, a second hand sensor fixed it cost around $40 from this guy,

In terms of the cluster/guage itself if you get into that side; Parrotts in Chch did AWESOME with mine - I sent it to them the day before the Feb earthquake, their workshop was destroyed/out of bounds but they begged and borrowed tools from people and worked on instruments in temp place in Blenheim I believe and had it fixed and back in days! Oh and thats after it had 3 trips to Robinsons in Auckland who couldnt fix it :)

And Parrotts only charged $100.
