Lift it, 70 series

Got an '85 70 series swb cruiser on 32" Maxxiss Buckshot Mudders and snorkel, still hunting for bull bar but want to lift it. Been talking to people regarding getting it done, would like to be able to get 35" tyres in there eventually. Some have suggested an old man emu 50mm lift kit, others have said put the springs above the axles and you'll get a really high lift but it aint cheap, others have said longer shackles, if I were to put an emu lift and longer shackle do I need a longer shock than that which comes with the emu 50mm kit. I was toying with the idea of getting a 50mm emu lift and then lift the body or is an 80mm suspension lift the way to go. Any ideas?

You'll most likely need longer shocks with any lift. I would go for an 80mm lift rather than a 50mm & body lift.
Longer shackles are OK on the back but they stuff up your caster & approach angles in the front.

I've got 50mm OME springs and anti-inversion shackels on the front of my 70 series and the maximin tyre size I can get on without additional lifting is 33's. We tried a 35 on it and it would touch the rear of the guards. My trucks a flat deck so I dont know how you would get on with your rear guards?
If you do a body lift you may have to be carefull what sort of bullbar you put onto the truck so its not blocking the headlights?

using longer shackles allows your springs to invert, to stop this you can lengthen the bumpstops. This will still give you the lift without wearing out your springs and will stop the tire from hitting if it does try and flex up to far.
