Hi all,
I’ve been a long time watcher and now a first time poster. IcedJohnno suggested I introduce myself seeing as I’m going to be his passenger/"get out a push boy" on the Godley trip coming up.
I have been very impressed with the builds posted up and have the utmost respect for those that can do for themselves. However having said that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and don’t dis anyone no matter how their truck is built. As long as they have fun.
I have 2 4WDs. A 2.8 Hiace family wagon and a seriesIII SWB Landy. The Landy is currently resting with a collapsed clutch and when the time comes available will also get a heart transplant from 202 to 3.3 EFI. Aside from the engine it’s basically standard and has provided alot fun. We like the oldskool feel combined with a “dents and scratches are charactor” attitude. I’ll dig some pics out soon.
The Van is certainly not a “shiney” with its fair share of westcoast pinstripping and it gets its time in 4WD whether it be snow, fishing, hunting or family trips getting away from it all.
We have 2 wee girls aged almost 3 and almost 1 who both love getting dirty in the mud. This will go well with the Landy and over enthusiastic Dad.
Experience is limited to low grade day trips and playing at the Waimak. Always had fun and am keen to learn more and do tougher trips even if I’m pulling winch rope and helping dig for others.
I look forward to chatting and meeting a few of you.
Cheers, Phil.

Welcome Phil
Joining a club is a good way to get out and get some experience (safely).
I would recommend coming along to the CR4WD club meeting (first wednesday of month) and seeing what they're all about.

Good to see you finally got your self a handle, Mr G' Nome.
Looking forward to our trip south.
Welcome aboard...
Phil's played a bit with 4 by's.
Some of you guys may want to ask him about his twin engined quad, back when he was an Engineering undergraduate.
Twin engines you say! Why?
Well for crossing lakes of course...

Welcome, do tell more about your twin engine quad, and of course pictures are required. I'm picturing Top Gear presenter, Dickhead Clarkson, with his outboard clad Hilux
