Hi all, just purchased my first 4wd-1994 double cab hilux. Got imported in to NZ back in 05 so had little kms on it and very tidy. its the 107 model but only running a 2.0L 3S engine with lots of Jap emission control systems, so very very gutless, Top speed of 120 if your lucky. I want to upgrade to a 1uzfe, just unsure of what else needs replacing to handle that power jump. Also looking at a snorkle, suspension upgrade/lift plus a new front bar to cover lights and spotlight mounts. Will post a current photo in the next few days
Any suggestions on engine upgrade, where to get it done (Napier), best bar and best light combination would be greatly appreciated

i know someone that put that engine into a suzuki with standard axles and it seems fine, but he used a v6 transfer case (hydraulic not electric) and hes taken it out a few places with no problems.
hes using an auto though, so may be different.

are there any simple bolt in engine conversions to add more power straight away without needing too much rewiring?

photo of the 2L 3s engine, guy I brought it off had new radiator and hoses fitted. On the right hand side is space for another battery which I am contemplating if I add in extra electrics
