torsion bars

Post by Glenn J »

This might sound like a bit of a dumb question but when you wind up torsion bars is it just increasing the spring tension to get the lift? Because I wound mine right up to even the front with the rear and it makes the ride pretty harsh now and I'd like to know if there's a way of softening the rode but keeping the lift

that is exactly what it does.

you can re index your torsion bars by pulling them out, and turning them by 2 splines. i think it makes it softer while keeping the ride height

You have probably wound them way to far ....you now wont have any droop so when you go over a bump the suspension has no or very little downward movement , you will now also be more likely to break cv's.
