For those interested there is a Eastbourne to Orongorongo (round the coast) on the 3rd of September and a Driver training on the 17th of Sept.
Both trips are being run by CCVC and visitors are usually welcome, let me know if interested and I will put you in contact with the trip leaders...

I think the price is cost of membership to CCVC$80 ($55 if you have already paid the 4wd assn fee), be aware red rocks is a "legal road" so having a licence helps

nobody seems to mind me driving out there? Thats where I did my driver training, and on driver training I got to pull one of the guys who went to help, out. And then I drove straight through there afterwards. Of course, thats where stinky first towed me out as well (stuck on a sand bank). Only after he laughed and took a photo though

you dont need a wof.... if you have a farm reg.
Driver trainings are on sunday and you go in through long gulley. So there is hardly any traffic.
