Evening All.
Be interested in everyone's opinions of free wheel hubs. Aisin seem to be popular? I have had AVM's on a previous truck that seemed pretty good.
Currently have WARN hubs fitted - but looks like previous owners have used a cold chisel to turn them.
Anyone know if these would fit a 40?

At that price and being new I would question the quality.
Why not look for some 2nd hand Aisin's
Cheers

Try and find some Aisin. They usually range from $100 to $150 second hand but are well worth it. They are a simple design, don't have the crap alenkey bolts holding them together and are strong enough for lockers and bigger tyres. I have broken one or two but that was due to fitting issues (make sure you have the 6 collets and the two metal dowels).
To know if those AVM or common Aisin ones will fit, you need to make sure the 40 has 30 spline axles.

Aisin are definately the better hubs, the housings are stronger and they pull down tigher onto the hub with cone washers. I've had Warn and AVM on some of my early cruisers 20 years ago probably before they had invented aisin hubs and they are fine for general use (ie: standard wheels, no diff locks no V8 no red mist etc
Re: 40 series free wheel hubs
I would save yourself the hassle and get a set of genuine aisin ones. I bought some copy ones and even though i have 35's and a 1kz i managed to do this.

So i took both of them back as they both were broken and i was given a set of second hand genuine ones. I would not recommend them if you have big tyres. I was not thrashing mine at the time when it happened either.
