Motueka river bridge My terrano a few years back started making a weird squeak, similar to disc pad squealer tabs, but with good pads, no stones in backing plates etc. It was very random as to when, and how long it would squeal for.. I greased the hub seals up in case it was them. Hasn't done it since, but couldn't rule out co-incidence. Nath

Yup sure is, I use to live up there and have had my old izuzu trooper in that area.
The squeak started when I pulled in the the entrance to the lake sumner camping area in the lewis pass.
Drove it yesterday and it went away. Im so confused

sounds like the rubber components of suspension to me. wet rubber rubbing on metal. same sound in my old surf. new bushes etc all round fixed it. might be similar.

When I put a tow bar on mine, it started making a similar type sqeak, it was rubbing on the back bumper mounts.
Perhapes check that, and your bar work, spare wheel carrier etc?
It did take a little bit before I finally realised. Had some one else driving like a mad man, me in the boot with everything open ..... good times
