kickdown on automatic transmission

Having trouble with my auto transmission. Cruising down the motorway at 80ks put foot hard to floorboard to pass. Truck has no power, just slowly picks up speed. However, when I flick the overdrive off it goes like a rocket. It would appear that it is not kicking down. Recently had secondhand TCS control fitted. Any ideas what could be wrong? Technician says not likely to be control switch but some other switch.

Hmm, not my area of expertise... Would have guessed throttle position sensor maybe? Those autos are electronic control, so presume trans computer uses throttle position as one of the inputs.

Yup no kick down cable....on those ones..
There sometimes is a cable going to box but its for pressure modulation...
ECU controlled....
My guess is you need to adjust TPS sensor.
